I know. Black.
For someone who usually runs straight into the arms of navy, cream, beige, and every elegant muted shade in between, black is not exactly my default setting. Most of the year, I find it a little too harsh on me, a little too severe, and frankly, not nearly as forgiving as a deep midnight blue.
But then summer happens.
A little sun. A little warmth on the skin. A bit of a tan. Suddenly, black and cream start making sense in the most effortless way. Crisp, chic, graphic, and quietly glamorous. The kind of combination that feels polished without trying too hard.

Today’s exception to my own rule comes courtesy of Thalia Heckroth’s Nicole top and skirt. The set has that smooth, comfortable look of satin, with a subtle shine that catches the light just enough. No fuss, no excess, just sublime tailoring and a silhouette that feels refined, easy, and very summer evening appropriate.
Over my shoulder, I am wearing Saudade’s Duda jacket in a cream tone that sits beautifully close to the skirt, adding that relaxed, slightly undone finish I love. Mowie’s Stacy pumps keep the look sleek, while the accessories add just enough shine. I went with Mowie’s Any choker and hoops from Yummy’s Essential Hoops and Studs collection, which, honestly, is an absolute must-have. Clean, versatile, and exactly the kind of jewelry you keep reaching for.

Beauty-wise, I am wearing Rhea by The Skinnery on leLUTKA’s Madrid head. The make-up is delivered with the skin and therefor lines up perfectly, giving you room to play, layer, and personalize this beauty to your own liking. My hair is Blossom by Opulein, adding that final polished touch without stealing focus from the clean lines of the outfit.
So yes, black may still be the exception.
But with cream, satin, great tailoring, good jewelry, and a little summer glow?
I will happily make room for it.
XO, Graz
