It’s not often that Kooqla releases a new skin, and I ran as fast as my lag-prone computer would allow me to The Jail Event when I saw there was a new one!
How pretty is she? Callista, what an appropriate name. means the Most Beautiful in Greek. Au naturel she’s youthful, and pretty, especially when worn on LeLUTKA‘s Briannon. My hair is by Rama salon, a new collab with Sintiklia, named Chelsea and available at Equal10 and my sweater is by Miss Chelsea (complete coincidence, I just liked what is written on the sweater: I like them real thick and sprucy)
In the dressed-up version, I tidied my Chelsea hair, and I picked Jack Spoon‘s Munster Winged eyeshadow, combined with Izzie‘s blush from her snow makeup set and my lipstick is by Suicidal Unborn from the Hesperia collection.
Quite a different look, right? Ready to go out for a dance (who am I kidding) I’m wearing Ison tonight, Juliana Cowl dress, with Mylie’s Bolero and Macey’s Glitter Strap heels. I added my Yummy Holiday party set jewelry and I’m all set. Just grabbing a small purse from DDL for my lipstick, credit card, and phone, and off I go!
I mean, really! All of a sudden we’re full in the end-of-year rush, with the entire team in a frenzy to wrap up all their goals for the year, and then some! Also, I have a guest coming over tomorrow, so when I got home tonight, I had to prepare the guest room and get (most) of the paperwork from the dining table, which doubles as my home office, and oh well, you know what I mean. It’s December my favorite month of the year (Not. No really, It’s my birthday month too, but ever since I was a kid, I have been structurally overwhelmed in December, and I just want it to be January)
Anyway, I did want to share this lovely new Glam Affair skin with y’all. She’s called Ruth, and Ruth has never been prettier in SL! I’m wearing her here on LeLUTKA‘s Avalon, and applied the Adele brows from Nuve. Eye make up and lip toner are from the Ruth package, so that was easy. I only added a few beauty marks from the Boheme collection by Jack Spoon. Oh and a special shout out for my lashes, they are new by Nylon Outfitters,and they are beautiful and lush!
For my outfit, I picked the Sweater and Buttoned Shirt from Fashionably Dead. It comes in a vast selection of colours and patterns, so I just had to fatpack. The choice stress was impossible! I am combining it with Ison‘s Leilani palazzo trousers and grabbed the pattern 3 Winter coat from Movement. My earrings are from the Alicia set by Yummy.
Being elegant in SL is not much different from RL. I used to attend some fashion shows in SL, mainly when a stylish vainpyre who happens to be my immortal brother used to grace the runway with his pixels and I was always fascinated with what SLmodels and show producers consider(ed) to be high fashion and/or elegance. An overload of accessories, attachments, intricate prim torturing outfits (pre-mesh) on stick thin models with maxed-out boobs which would cause them serious back pain in RL (or to tip over because top heavy). To be honest, fashion shows in SL used to be my guilty pleasure, my trainwreck that I could not look away from. Elegance for me is less is more. Or like Mme Chanel used to say, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off“
Today’s skin is one of the weekend sales offers from Guapa, Marieta, worn on LeLUTKA‘s Avalon. I’m wearing Wings ER1203 hair with it, which is out now at Anthem and Tville’s Stardust eyes. I have added some freckles from the Boheme Collection from Jack Spoon and I am wearing here the Tattered sweater from Tres Blah
Beautiful skin doesn’t need much, so I went with Goreglam Dior eyeshadow, which I made slightly less opaque because I wanted it a bit lighter than the full 100% version, and my lipstick, oh my lipstick, is from Nuve, the Glam Lipstick Chic from Anthem, which is also available in a Gothic version. She should have called it Chicstick because it’s so gorgeous and flawless and chic.
Nothing says elegance like a high waist pencil skirt, which I am wearing in a knit version here from Stories & Co. Weekend sales, so the min set of 4 colours per body type is only 60L$! You don’t need to spend a fortune to look like a million dollar! To keep it semi casual, instead of a crisp shirt, I decided to go with this cropped sweater from Reign, but to glam it up with Yummy‘s Holiday party set, Pure Poison‘s Lady Pumps, and a simple tote from DDL… There, that is all.
No worries, it’s purely about the lights in these pics. It’s dark and I love to work with blue light, because it gives that, je ne sais quoi of gloom without being downright depressing, if that makes sense? I have been over The Arcade for years now. I remember the days I would go SO broke trying to get those coveted gacha rares, but to be honest, I have also always hated gachas and I felt that in general interest in the event was dwindling long before the ban on gachas. Those insanely talented creators who would made amazing sets that would keep you playing until you literally had no L$ balance left, they left the event long ago, and nowadays, yeah… nah… not really. However…. when I saw that one of my favourite skinners, Amara Beauty was in this round, I decided to give it a try. Got in immediately, on day one. That should tell you something. I got lucky, because after 2 pulls on the machine, I saw a fat pack coming up! so I kept playing until I got it! I also got a few of Mutresse’s Naughty Elves, simply because I adore Mutresse and then left as fast as I could.
And isn’t she gorgeous? Her name is Carmelia, and I am wearing her on LeLUTKA‘s River. yes, Lelu’s gorgeous androgynous head is a total beauty with this skin! I added some moles from Jack Spoon‘s Boheme set and a subtle chin dimple from Saxo. Today’s eyes are the Influencer eyes from Avi-Glam and my hairbase is Wispy Bangs hairbase from Angel eyes, new out at Level. From Fameshed, which has also opened today, I picked up the Polly slip dress and cardigan by Amias.
For my final outfit and look, I went full drama. The outfit is by Avec Toi, the Artemis blazer and vest. and I am wearing the Ruby pants underneath, also from Avec Toi. Initially I was wearing the Ruby blazer instead of the Artemis blazer, but I wasn’t completely feeling that look, so I went over to the shop and see if there was something that fitted my mood better for today. Got immediately approached and complimented in that over the top way that I think only SL subs do, as if wearing latex instantly makes you a Domme. No, it only makes you wear latex, k? I sometimes like wearing latex. it’s sexy! And the Artemis blazer with the vest and shirt, offers a bit more contrast than the Ruby blazer. For my makeup I kept it classic. I’m wearing the smokey eyeshadow which came with Amara Beauty‘s Callie skin, and I added the BOM shading from Influence‘s cheek deformer. My lipstick is by Dernier, the Marilyn lipstick. My hair got did, and it’s now the Cosmetized Melody hairbase, which are lovely fingerwaves, and I added the Bloom beret from Opale. My sole piece of jewelry is Yummy‘s Solitaire ring. I love that ring, It’s gorgeous! My shoes, again are by Gos, the Charlene patent pumps and my wine is from Chicchica!
I have a couple of idiosyncracies that are history related. Whenever I watch my clock and see the time, either a historical event pops up in my mind: 12:15? Magna Charta! 13:48? Big plague! or, if I can’t think of any event, I MUST look up the time/year and see what happened. The same happens on occasion with dates. What happened on November 30? Well turns out that the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, as the first modern state in the world, abolished the death penalty on 30 November 1786. It’s equal parts fun and frustrating. I love history, so the more I know, the better it is, but at the same time, I sometimes just don’t have the time to go down that history rabbit hole (because it never just stops at that). On a whole different topic, I am simply blown away by Nuve‘s skins. I picked up Regina during the Black Friday sale and she gives me Uma Thurman vibes when worn on LeLUTKA‘s Halle. Can you see it? I’m wearing Regina with the Adele brows, also by Nuve because they are a bit more delicate and I’m also wearing Wings‘ ER1120 hair and Alexandrite‘s Vivid eyes. Such a pretty face doesn’t need any makeup at all, but yeah, I am a sucker for it, so let’s see how this ends up, k?
For the eyes, I decided on a simple coloured wing Glitter liner from Insol, and in the inner corner, I added a highlighter from Dotty’s secret, in a soft rose, which also goes into the lower waterline. My upper lashes are from Moonwaii, the parsley lashes, but the lower ones, are from the LeLUTKA HUD. For my lips, I went with a lovely stone red gloss from Goreglam from the This Kiss palette and made it a bit more transparent via the LeLUTKA HUD. A set of pearls always makes your face glow and these and while these Work Pearls from Yummy are old as dirt, they are still among my favourites because they are so simple and classy, like true classics!
For today’s outfit, I went with a nice mix up of some of my recent new purchases! I’m wearing Just Because’s Tasha shirt under Seniha‘s Mikaela vest and paired it with Blueberry’s Poppy leggings in the winter 2022 texture edition. Love this flowery pattern! and they were only 75L$ for the fat pack! Added a pair of Kaia chunky boots from Gos and I’m good to go. Or to stay, and watch some history documentaries!
This morning my eye caught a message on Facebook, stating that LOGO has reached an agreement with LeLUTKA for the use of their EvoX UV! This is great news, because that means that owners of new heads from LOGO (not sure if the older ones will be updated) will have a HUGE amount of BOM content to choose from! Also, in the same post, I saw that their latest head, Paris, is actually already EvoX enabled and is only 399 for the weekend!!!!! So I ran as fast as my pixels would let me on my old computer to the LOGO store and grabbed it without even trying on a demo. I mean.. 399!
Uff, after having worn LeLUTKA heads for so long, starting over with a new head from a different brand can be quite the shock. I looked awful! So then I decided to just start with the shape that comes with the head. But again, I looked awful. I reset my animatons & skeleton several times, but to no avail. Eventually, I just made a new shape from scratch, and that did it However…. let me tell you this, it’s not as intuitive as LeLUTKA to me. And I like to believe I am a proficient shaper. I decided to forego on the LOGO eyes, because the mesh eyes wouldn’t pose properly, and the BOM eyes wouldn’t load. So I went with Avi-Glam‘s Virtue eyes and -balls. Also the lashes that come with the head… not my taste. And that is -frankly- an understatement. I quickly bought a lash installer at Izzie’s because she simply never disappoints, but even with Izzie’s lashes, the lashes on this head look weird to me. It’s actually how the area is shaped ON the head I think. But, in the end… I think I made it work! I actually look cute with Paris on. Oh… before I forget, the skin, is Avarosa‘s Mako and the hair is J0630 by Tram!
I styled her with some new stuff. Wasabi has this sassy Mathilda hair out at The Fifty, and my Eira suit and fur stole are from Giz Seorn at Uber. I also grabbed the BEAUTIFUL Solitaire ring from Yummy at The Fifty for an understated, elegant festive look. When I zoomed out further to take a full body shot, and also show off my Gos pumps, my face started to break. No really! It could be because my platform is at 1000m up in the air, but to be honest, with my LeLUTKA heads this has never happened. Look here for my broken face! And here for exactly the same situation, but with my Avalon head on. LOD is at 4.00, as it should be.
However, at a normal talking distance, Paris looks lovely. As mentioned, BOM makeup for EvoX will also work with the new LOGO heads, so I picked some from Alaskametro. The Hyperdrive eyeshadow and the Ozone lipstick. From Dernier’s Kim contour set I took the nose contour #2, the cheeks #2, and the cupid bow #1 to optically adjust my shape a bit. The pretty moles on my body are from West End!
So yeah, turns out Covid finally got me! Never was a test result in faster and with brighter red stripes! It’s funny because the only thing that gave it away, or rather, what made me take a test last night was a little cough which didn’t sound like my usual one. I mean, in this time of year, I am pretty much always feeling sick or having some kind of cold, so feeling poorly doesn’t usually stop me. But because of that odd cough I figured, let’s put that stick up my nose so I can be sure there is nothing wrong. And here I am… in the guest room, isolating, to avoid that my SO, who is still testing negative, doesn’t get extra exposure. He’s immunocompromised, so we have been extremely careful over the past years.
Anyway. I kind of like it to make the pretty pretty skins of SL look less than gorgeous so for today, I continued on yesterday’s path. Starting out with LeLUTKA‘s Briannon (50% off all heads this weekend only for Black Friday) and Glam Affair‘s Sloane (ditto, 50% off for Black Friday, storewide), the Orpheus eyes from Gloom en Opale x Chain‘s Meisell hair, I have been adding tired/sick/poorly/ problem skin layers to my heart’s content! Are you ready? Here we go!

By Saxo: Tired eyes soft Flu face (V1, yesterday I wore V2, which is newer), the Cheek dimple soft and the Chin dimple soft. To finish it off, I added The Skinnery‘s Wornout eyebags and Ladybird‘s Peony chapped lips.
For clothing, I opted for this totally warm and very funny Long & Home sweater by Sorumin, I love Yule pigs! Yule is a mid-winter tradition older than Christmas. A feast dedicated to Freyr, God of Yule and Fertility. Many traditions stemming from Yule have been incorporated into Christmas, to make the Christian feast more palatable to pagans. How’s that for appropriation? Anyway, I am rambling. Under the sweater, I even added Erratic‘s racerback (BOM) tank because you know how those Xmas sweaters are always itchy? Even though you don’t see it, it’s there. I know it’s there. I feel it’s there! My pants are from the Luna Lounge set by Osmia and you can almost feel the softness of the stretchy fabric. Elastic waistband of course. I mean, I really wouldn’t know, right, but My SL, My Imagination! My sneakers are from Friday, and they are pretty much my all-time favorites. The cute heart shape on the nose always makes me smile! Finally, I added the Daisy gem studs from Yummy‘s mega Dreamy earring pack
