Still meh

So yeah, turns out Covid finally got me! Never was a test result in faster and with brighter red stripes! It’s funny because the only thing that gave it away, or rather, what made me take a test last night was a little cough which didn’t sound like my usual one. I mean, in this time of year, I am pretty much always feeling sick or having some kind of cold, so feeling poorly doesn’t usually stop me. But because of that odd cough I figured, let’s put that stick up my nose so I can be sure there is nothing wrong. And here I am… in the guest room, isolating, to avoid that my SO, who is still testing negative, doesn’t get extra exposure. He’s immunocompromised, so we have been extremely careful over the past years.

Anyway. I kind of like it to make the pretty pretty skins of SL look less than gorgeous so for today, I continued on yesterday’s path. Starting out with LeLUTKA‘s Briannon (50% off all heads this weekend only for Black Friday) and Glam Affair‘s Sloane (ditto, 50% off for Black Friday, storewide), the Orpheus eyes from Gloom en Opale x Chain‘s Meisell hair, I have been adding tired/sick/poorly/ problem skin layers to my heart’s content! Are you ready? Here we go!

Oh, before we go there, the info for the Black Friday Sales, comes from Seraphim’sUltimate Black Friday sales list! It’s huge! Click on the image above to go directly to the list!

that out of the way, let’s then finally focus on the layers! I went with Izzie’s and Saxo mostly! Both stores currently have 50% off on selected items!

By Izzie’s: natural eyeshadow rose, 75% opacity; 01 frown lines 40%, 01 Forehead lines 40% and Blemishes 70%.
By Saxo: Tired eyes soft Flu face (V1, yesterday I wore V2, which is newer), the Cheek dimple soft and the Chin dimple soft.
To finish it off, I added The Skinnery‘s Wornout eyebags and Ladybird‘s Peony chapped lips.

For clothing, I opted for this totally warm and very funny Long & Home sweater by Sorumin, I love Yule pigs! Yule is a mid-winter tradition older than Christmas. A feast dedicated to Freyr, God of Yule and Fertility. Many traditions stemming from Yule have been incorporated into Christmas, to make the Christian feast more palatable to pagans. How’s that for appropriation? Anyway, I am rambling. Under the sweater, I even added Erratic‘s racerback (BOM) tank because you know how those Xmas sweaters are always itchy? Even though you don’t see it, it’s there. I know it’s there. I feel it’s there! My pants are from the Luna Lounge set by Osmia and you can almost feel the softness of the stretchy fabric. Elastic waistband of course. I mean, I really wouldn’t know, right, but My SL, My Imagination! My sneakers are from Friday, and they are pretty much my all-time favorites. The cute heart shape on the nose always makes me smile! Finally, I added the Daisy gem studs from Yummy‘s mega Dreamy earring pack

Tweed

Today’s base is Sally, the new skin from The Skinnery and LeLUTKA’s Irina head. I feel Irina is a bit difficult to love for a lot of people. because she has strong features, which makes her look harsh easily, but I adore her. It does require some shaping to make her work for me, but hey, when you have a good base shape and you make a copy of it before you start working on it to make it fit another head (or body for that matter), you can never really eff up! The only additional layer I am wearing here, is the subtle undereye blush that comes with Sally. Today’s hair is Gemini from Exile, and it has this interesting styling option of short bangs or longer fringes, which really makes it 2 styles for 1 price really! Wearing the bangs version here in the clean pic! I woke up in the Retro Road shirt from Fashionably Dead. I have been a fan from Toast Bard’s creations ever since my very first beginnings in SL, and she still does not disappoint with her leisurely cute style!

For makeup, I went with Alaskametro today. Both my eyeshadow Dara and lipstick Ozone are hers. Eyes and lashes today are out of the LeLUTKA box, belonging to the default equipment Irina comes with. And here you see Exile‘s Gemini hair in the other style, with the loose fringes

My outfit is a mix from Ison‘s Haley ribbed pullover, and Tres Blah‘s Tweed skirt. Just like Sally and Gemini, these items are available at this month’s Collabor88. My boots and purse are from DDL, and if you run, you will still find them discounted from last weekend’s sale!! Oh and since it’s getting colder, I went and bought some new tights from Vannies on the marketplace. Good tights are hard to come by. I wish more creators would make them. Stay-ups a plenty, but I truly hate it when, in a regular not provoking outfit, the garter is visible. So a huge thank you to Vannies for making these!
