Sundays are for doing nothing

it’s well past noon and I am still in bed. I’ve been napping, rewatching old episodes of The Crown before the new season will air, enjoyed a homemade latte macchiato and a cracker with some slightly aged actual Gouda, which is a whole lot different from the stuff marketed abroad as Gouda, but which has little or nothing to do with the famous Dutch cheese, and so my day is slowly passing. In SL, I have been playing with Nuve‘s new skin Hannah, which is -again- gorgeous. I used the browless version and added the blonde eyebrows from the eyebrow pack, because I don’t feel like going too dark today and I added a little under-eye shadow by Izzie’s because yeah well, I always have that in RL as well, and while my pixel self doesn’t quite look like my RL self, I do like to have some things in common. My hair base with the hair clip is by Studio Exposure, called Doin’Time and I’m wearing all of it on LeLUTKA’s Avalon head with the Influence unisex nose deformer lvl 1. Today’s eyes come from the leLUTKA HUD and I tossed on a quick tank top by Red Girl over my WeArH0uSE basic bra, which is a staple in my wardrobe. I feel BOM undies are seriously underrated. I love wearing them and mesh undies are notoriously hard to wear under other mesh clothing. Not everybody likes to go commando all the time!

But as with everything, nothing lasts forever, so at some point I will have to get up, take a shower and in this case do something as mundane as receive the groceries I have ordered yesterday. So while I mentally get ready for that, I have started with Grazia already. Nothing too fancy today, as Nuve’s Hannah is flawless to begin with, but a little light make up, and something a bit more dressy for the rest of the day will be nice

Ok, more dressy is relative. I picked up this Environment blazer set at Technofolk, and yup, I definitely need my bra to keep it PG! I have my hair a quick brush and it transformed into Doux‘Iki and for my makeup, I stuck with Nuve‘s Hannah Eyeshadow nr9 and lipstick nr1.

The Technofolk blazer comes with a really comfortable set of trousers as well, and I paired them with Semller‘s worn canvas low tops with floral embroidery. This will have to do for today! After all, Sundays are for doing nothing!

Refining the pixels

Well hello there! The other day Facebook reminded me of the existence of this little blog of mine, where I focus on skins, make up and hair, and I figured, as the days get shorter, and the temperatures go down, I might as well give it another go here, as I am still taking lots of pics of skins and post them to my flickr, and insta. But those are usually the finished looks, including some makeup and layers, and what I really like is also to show you guys the blank canvas, and what you can achieve with SL makeup and layers. And of course, it’s my way of supporting the awesome creators who always provide us with some new stuff we want!

So before I reboot this, I would like to make two caveats. I am SUCH a LeLUTKA girl. I love their work, how they model their heads and the ease of use of their HUD. I might occasionally branch out to another head, but don’t expect a lot of that here, as pretty much all my makeup and layers and skins are bought for LeLUTKA. Caveat 1: yes, I am on LeLUTKA‘s blogotex. I have free access to their releases and I love the Lelus for their generosity and our long ass relationship which goes all the way back to the early days of SL. Caveat 2: the same goes for Glam Affair. You may remember that at some point I worked as their CSR and I have been on their bloggers & friends list forever. These two brands however are the only ones I am affiliated with. All other heads, skins and make-ups you will see on this blog, I have bought with my own money because I love them!

That out of the way, look at this day’s mug shot.

This is my typical straight-out-of-bed SL look. Hair in a messy bun, whisps from Angel Eyes messy 7 hairbase all over my forehead, and in dire need of some serious moisturizing. Today’s head is Kaya, by LeLUTKA of course, and my eyes are Conviction‘s Skylar eyes. Their highlights are not SUPER realistic, but the overall effect is fresh and awake. Yes, coming to think of it, I might well have had my first caffeine of the day for this pic. My lashes are also by LeLUTKA, they come in the HUD and they are my favourite natural-looking lashes

The skin I am working with is by Eudora Beauty, called Olympia and I added some light blemishes from Izzie’s to add to the out-of-bed look. Also, and this is relatively new, Influence has made some facial deformers, I am wearing both their unisex nose deformer lvl 1 as well as their recently released cheeks deformer lvl1, which just adds that little extra chisel to my otherwise very soft Kaya face.

When at home, I rarely dress up, so today I am wearing Tres Blah‘s Tattered sweater, which is a perfect example of a jersey loved to death that you won’t throw away until it’s worn to its last thread and a not specified pair of pajama shorts.

And there we go, All dolled up! I picked out a new hair from Wings, ER1030, and added a little extra darkness to the greyish-black from the variety HUD. I switched the Olympia skin with brows for the eyebrowless version and added the black Selene brows from Nuve for a more groomed look. I love that Nuve, whenever they release a new skin, they also always have a dedicated eyebrow pack. I wear these a lot, because Nuve‘s brows seriously rock.

For makeup, I went with the Biba kit blush 1 from Jack Spoon. Another one of my favourite makeup creators. and I did my eyes with the new Mercurial eyeshadow from Warpaint. I added some Scha lashes from Anice, a creator relatively new to me, but dang, their lashes are to die for! So that makes for a pretty dramatic eye. I’m contrasting it with a relatively demure lipstick from Identity Faces from the all lipstick Woman collection. It’s a pretty bold look for daytime makeup, but it’s not over the top I think.

Et voilà Ready to go! I am wearing Just Because‘s Sally Sweater dress, which is perfect for these cooler days, with a pair of Ayden chunky boots from Gos and DDL‘s brown Sun purse. My necklace, the finishing touch in this outfit is the Sakura Three Chains necklace from Dark Mouse

GRWM: a very lazy Saturday

So my starting point today is Korina, my current go to LeLutka head and MILA‘s Nora skin which to me looks beautifully sensual and my brow’s are Izzie‘s Cora, since today I am paying hommage to this brand! My hair du jour is Truth‘s shadow and my eyes are Min Soo, from Euphoric. The lovely Floral bodysuit is Marie, from Candydoll

After a very busy week in RL, including a couple of days at HQ abroad, I figured I deserved a very lazy Saturday. So basically I have done nothing at all today. Just napping, grabbing a bite, sip my tea and play with Izzie‘s BoM updates which are available for grabs for free until November 10!! Take a look here for the list with updated products! Oh and did I mention chocolate? I have discovered my perfect mix of dark and milk… it’s Tony’s Chocolonely dark milk. Nope, this entry is not sponsored by Tony’s but seriously, if you are looking for some delicious and as ethhical as possible chocolate (Tony’s is striving for 100% slave free chocolate) then this is your webshop!!

Half a bar of Tony’s in, I am happy with my “after” look! Putting all emphasis on the eyes, I am wearing Izzie’s Gloom eyeshadow and the rather neutral Daphne matte nude lipstick no. 3 for LeLutka. Alaskametro‘s Beauty Guru contour no. 1 and a slightly transparent blush that is included in the LeLutka HUD finish off the face. My hair is Labyrinth, also from Truth.

My beautiful jewelry is from RealEvil Inustries, Satine and currently out at Fameshed. My top is instead out at Uber, and is from Just Because. I may have to go back and just get the fatpack because it’s so pretty.

GRWM: The party girl

Hi hi!! Today I am going to share a look with you that is matching the season as well as the beautiful new dress that my brother, Lord Winter Jefferson, the original bratling of SL (someone give the man a trophy please), got me the other day. It’s fun, it’s glamourous, it’s… sparkling! and I wanted to make a contrasting look to go with that. Bold all over!

So today’s base is another newly updated to BoM skin from Mila, Sato. I love how sassy she looks on my Korina head from LeLutka. Have I ever mentioned I love skins that have a bit thinner lips than the original SL UV? I mean, yes, they are a nighmare to find lipsticks for that do not make your lips look bee stung, but yeah, I am not a fan of the Kylie Jenner just came back from Killer Filler trip-look. So Sato it is paired with Magika’s Billie hair. Sabina from Magika has recently updated her hair again and has worked het magik on solving the alpha interference issue of hair. Her newest styles have been updated with it, and she has the script out in the store for you to drop into her older styles. Caveat: you will have to turn on ambient lighting for it to work, and for some weird reason, it doesn’t work on ALL her hairs… but on most of them it works like a charm.

I’m rambling, right? Good! As long as I have not lost you on the way :). The eyebrows are from the LeLutka HUD, so no BoM, and the Juvel eyes come from Arte (or A R T E, as it used to be spelled)

Whereas a lot of old layer clothes are outdated and not up to current SL standards anymore, this is not the case for Luxuria’s lingerie. I know they are nowadays mostly known for their adorable stockings, but I do miss the time that Ceciia made some of the best lingerie on the grid. And she released hers always with classic clothing layers as wel as appliers, so HELLO Bombshell body suit, how are ya?
I kid you not though. I have always continued wearing her underwear, on appliers, rather than mesh underwear because of fitting issues under clothing. So HI CECILIA ROSLIN KITTEN PETION… MORE LINGERIE PLEASE!

Are you ready to see the Party version of today’s GRWM?

Dramatic, huh? So i switched out of my Billie hair and put on my Ivy wig, also from Magika. Yes, I know it’s way longer than Billie… I guess I got extensons when you blinked, mhmm-kay?
I love it because it unhides my pixie ears from Swallow!
For my face, I applied… yes, you’ve guessed it right, Alaskametro‘s Beauty Guru contour! and because I wanted a stark contrast look, I didn’t go for any blush, which would have softened my face.

For my eye make up, I went with Clef de Peau‘s Blu eyebrows, which is actually from a really old 2016 skin of the brand, but the eyebrows still are beautiful as well as Cazimi‘s smoke eye shadow 01, which is a gorgeous smudged smokey black, blending really wel in my upper crease.

My lipstick is from Izzie, from the Matte Love collection. I used the dark grey here and added a hint of brown to make it darker still, yet not completely black. Yes, Izzie‘s make up layers are modifiable! ❤ ❤ <3.To complete lthe look, I added one of Izzie‘s moles from the Beauty Moles and Cheek Freckles set and after applying setting spray liberally on my face, I only had to slip into my new Eiffel Sparks dress from A Breakfast Conversation. This is a shop I lterally had never heard of… but they do have some awesome stuff. Not all is my taste, but it looks really well done!

It is that he’s my brother.. but anyone else with a comment like this would get the glare of death and be ignored. I DO NOT LIKE POP ART
But hey… call it leverage in the ongoing sibling rivalry, I’m Liechtensteining it up in this post, and next time I think of some ridiculous challenge, I’m totally going nag him until he caves in and does it!

This is today’s blank canvas. I am stil wearing Mila‘s Sato from the other day on my LeLutka Korina head, with Alaskametro’s light Beauty Guru brows and Izzie’s chin dimple. In RL I would never ever shoot a selfie showing myself this bare, but dang, my pixels look fine! My eyes are the default grey ones from the LeLutka HUD.

My hair is Lily, by Exile and my henley is from Vinyl. Liechtenstein on my mind, I am posing in front of 7‘s Union Jack because… well, no reason at all actually.. I just liked it as a backdrop 🙂

Bear in mind, I am NOT A SKINNER! but I did want to pay hommage to the iconic style of Roy Liechtenstein with the gridlike faces of his heroines, so I went into photoshop and started to draw dots. LOTS OF THEM! Well actually, I did one row of them, and then a whole lotta copy & paste and merge down occurred! and then I uploaded it to SL and put it on a tattoo layer and it looked like crap! Way too big! So back to the drawing board… Rinse & repeat that serveral times before I got the below result which made me.. well, not happy, there really is no content creator lost in me… but at least I felt I could use this and not look like a total idiot.

Or maybe I do… a dotted idiot! Anyway, it was fun getting out of my comfortzone and do this totally different look.

There is a LOT of make up going on in here! My eyebrows are actually 2 copies of the same layer from Just Magnetized, the Perfect brow set 08/01 because the dots came through too much with wearing only one layer. Luckiy, you can keep layering with BoM!!!
Same story for my contouring. I am wearing all 3 blended layers from Alaskametro‘s beauty Guru contour set to make it actually show on my face!

My eye make up is Zibska‘s Zeta 06, layered with Alaskametro‘s Tightline eyeliner 07. and then I used the heavy lashes from LeLutka‘s HUD and the cheat of the day, the tears from said HUD as well! My lipstick is actually a combination of 2, namely Pink Fuel’s Classic red lipstick and Cazimi‘s Bombshell Reds 02.

The Nadia hair from Exile is pretty awesome, and allows for some tinting. I adjusted the yellow a bit to make it more popping, more like the primay yellow than the one that Exile uses. The original Oh, Jeff…I Love You, Too…But… painting from Liechtenstein shows the girl wearing a black spaghetti top, but here I had a massive issue, not for the lack of black spaghettitops in SL, but my lack of skills to make the dots work on the full body! So I needed something with a turtleneck, and preferably a high one too! Which I found in Osmia‘s Mona cropped sweater, currently out at Uber. Oh and the phone is a 21st century liberty.. and it comes with the most obnoxious and hilarious AO I have had in a long long time: Selfie or Belfie by Tuty‘s

So there you go, Jefferson! One pop art inspired GRWM! You owe me one!

GRWM: Glam Bam

Good morning dolls! Another day, another Get Ready With Me! The buy-in from content creators on BoM is a bit slow. Or maybe I just want it all, and I want it NOW! but for the moment, it’s pretty limited what is being released BoM/tattoo layers included. Even some of the newer skins are still not BoM compatible, so please make sure to demo!!!

But luckily, there are some trusted brands have been consitently releasing including tattoo layers since it became clear that LL would be implementing this, so meanwhile I do have a nice selection of make up to work with, just the number of brands is somewhat limited!

So today I started out with LeLutka‘s Aida head for a change. I adjusted my shape a bit to bring out her nice, delicate features, and paired it with Avi-Glam‘s tender eyes in a very pretty dark brown. Today’s skin is Glam Affair‘s Lala 006C and yes, I have added Izzie‘s chin dimple to my basic look!

Under Truth‘s Betsy curler hair, I am wearing Izzie‘s baby hairs hairbase and my tank tops are from Blueberry, the group gift tank top which I am wearing under Salt & Pepper‘s WTC tank and, only now that I am zooming out in world to check on the credits and stuff, I see that they actually do not work well together. You might get away with black on black, or white on white.. but Cloud under black… yeah no bueno! But oh well… it works for this particular shot, right?

/insert chit chat on skin routine and the layering of serums and creams to reduce pore visibility and lines because HA… pixels do not age, do not suffer from insomnia AND they don’t care of you eat chocolate! But let’s pretend for the sake of this blog that I, once again, have gone through the works, and just finished priming my skin to start some serious layering when suddenly I realised that I literally had no idea of the look I wanted to achive today. Something contrasting to the one from the other day, that much I knew.. but for the rest, I just started to experiment and see how stuff worked together!

After I changed my skin for the Lala 006 E (browless) skin I started layering some eye makeups. Ended up using 3 different layers as well as no BoM eyeliner. Again… a little cheat because LeLutka allows for it!! Thanks Lelus!!

So this is what I used: Alaskametro‘s Editorial eyeshadow 05, followed by Zibska‘s Zeta eyemakeup 12 and also from Zibska the Olya eyeliner 15. Both grey/blackish layers from Zibska, giving the editorial eyeshadow base layer a fierce and pretty dramatic depth that I’m digging! So it stayed! I finished my eye make up with Veechi‘s Pin-up liner for LeLutka and changed the dainty LeLutka lashes for some more pronounced Flirty lashes from Avada for LeLutka. My eyebrows are brushed, filled, gelled and modeled into Izzie‘s Cora eyebrows!

On my cheeks I added the Viera 06 blush by Zibska which is defining without adding a lot of contrasting colour to my face. and for my lips I was delighted to find out that PinkFuel had tattoo layers hidden in her pack of Dazzle me lipsticks. I went for Spice this time around because… well, fall season, and contrary to the look from the other day, I wanted to go full out Glam Bam this time! So no muted lips, but a dramatically glossy pout.

With my face done, it was time to take out the curlers and brush it out a little bit and hair.. it became Truth‘s new Shadow hair. Since releasing Betsy, Mr. T has updated his textures at least once, but actually I think twice.. but luckily this soft medium brown is still in the collection. Improved in texture, but the colour is pretty much the same. Oh well, one could make a case for good hair care and styling products here, right?

Finishing today’s look, I decided to wear Miss Chelsea‘s Popi top, currently out at N21 and COCO Design‘s choker, from the One Shoulder Top & Choker.

All dolled up, I decided to NOT go out, but instead grab a bag of crisps and veg out on my couch, watching some youtube archaeology videos because.. yup, i’m that girl!

GRWM: Mellow yellow to Golden Glamour

Hiya! Today I am wearing Lelutka‘s Korina head and Glam Affair Danielle skin in 006 as a base. I have been playing around with heads a bit lately, but I keep going back to Korina for now, though there used to be a time I was pretty hard core Chloe, and before that Simone (both from LeLutka as well). But I find that recent skins do not fit these heads really well. I may at some point make a total fool of myself trying out some new skins on older heads, to balance out all the people who are wearing old as dirt skins on their heads now that they can with BoM.

Yes, I have also played with those, but only to conclude REALLY fast that some things from the past should remain in the past. Fond memories of Gala, Lovey, Starley, Naughty, Minnu and many of the epic old skin brands I adored… but gosh, girls: NO! Do not do low rez textures on your state of the art mesh heads. It’s disappointing because those old skins just won’t look as good on you now as you remember them from back in the days when they really were top notch (trust me, they no longer are), and your poor mesh head creator will be sad because you make their creation, which cost them a lot of time to model, script test and all the other things that come with creating a head that I even have no clue of, look like crap. Ok, I really wanted to use a more derogatory word here, but lets not start this new log adventure with a full blown cursing rant 🙂

Anyway, after thouroughly cleansing and moisturizing my pixels, I decided to go with a sophisticated but understated look, not the full blown formal dramatic face, which would be warranted by the awesome Kunglers Miray jewelry I am wearing today. The set comes with a texture change HUD so that you can pick from a vast range of colour combinations. Miray is currently available at Belle Event!

So on to the make up. I changed the Danielle 006 A skin with the natural blonde brows for the 006 E skin, which is browless because I wanted to add a bit more defined brow for this look, and i found that in Alaskametro‘s Beauty Guru eyebrows med filled.

In my first entry on this blog, I told you that the Beauty Guru items are part of Alaskametro‘s gacha set that she created for the Spoonful of Sugar event, benefitting Doctors without borders, and I am not sure whether this gacha will ever be available in her shop but gosh… I do hope so because this set totally rocks!

I then started to layer my make up… adding some freckles and moles from Izzie’s -Cora Moles and also from Izzie’s my chin dimple. I’m pretty much always wearing the chin dimple, so I might as well make that part of may nude/base face.. but hey, I’m still figuring this get ready with me stuff out!

My eyes are from It Girls. The gleam eyes are relatively new, and out for leLutka. They’re gorgeous, really well defined and they come in 6 shades. I wanted to accentuate them a bit so I picked Zibska‘s Tasha eyeshadow 04, which is out now at Shiny Shabby. Available for LeLutka, Catwa, Genus, LAQ, Omega and yes, BoM!!! Over the beautiful greenish metallic shade, I am wearng Alaskametro‘s Beauty Guru eyeliner 01 Finished which is a good base to wear some heavier eyelashes with. My lashes btw, being some of the thicker ones from the default LeLutka HUD

With the eyes quite pronounced, I didn’t feel I needed to add extra lipstick, so I stuck to a simple gloss from Izzie’s: Glossy lip highlights. As far as I know, these have not yet been converted into BoM layers, but hey, since LeLutka is pretty awesome, I can still wear some make up layers on my head on top of BoM and this is actually sitting on the tattoo layer. Izzie placed it on that layer so that you could wear it over lipstick on the lipstick layer!

Last but not least I changed from Doux‘s Vel hair to their slightly more combed but still pretty casual looking Aysha hair and out of my Tetra Kimmy off shoulder shirt and old jeans and into Valentina E‘s Modern Love gown. Add some classic pumps and a little clutch and you’re good to go!
