When I was a kid, I read constantly. And I don’t mean “a book or two here and there” kind of reading—I mean devouring entire stacks weekly, counting down the days until I could return to the library for my next fix. At the dinner table, if there wasn’t a book nearby, I’d read the labels on the ketchup bottle. Words were oxygen.
Somewhere along the way, that changed.
Can one overdose on reading? Or has the digital age simply rewired my brain to scroll instead of soak? These days, I can barely pick up a book without feeling restless. Which is wild, considering how much I once loved it. Maybe it’s just the times we live in.
Which reminds me—I really should make the effort to re-read Brave New World. Aldous Huxley’s dystopian classic from 1931 feels eerily close to home now. With information (and misinformation) flooding every screen, we’ve become hyper-informed, but not necessarily wiser. More connected, yet deeply divided. Speeding forward—but often without direction.
In a world so overloaded, slowing down feels radical. Choosing depth over distraction, silence over noise—it’s not just self-care. It’s a social act of defiance.
That’s why I still love libraries. They move at a gentler pace. The hush, the filtered light, the faint, musty scent of old pages—it’s grounding. Even if I’m not always reading, I’m remembering how it felt.
And yes, I know—this is yet another philosophical detour before I talk about my outfit. But hey, fashion doesn’t live in a vacuum. What we wear says something about the world we’re in, and how we want to move through it.

Today’s look hints at the season ahead. We’re still in summer, but there’s a subtle shift already—days grow shorter, evenings cooler, and the wardrobe quietly begins to turn.
I’m wearing the Selah V-cut bodysuit by ISON, paired with David Heather’s Aria skirt. The deep navy blue against wine red? Dramatic and moody, just how I like it. Underneath, I’ve layered Nylon Outfitters’ sheer tintable bodysuit—because texture makes all the difference.
To finish the look:
Roulette glasses by Deep Static – the kind of eyewear that says “yes, I’ve read the footnotes”
Celestia necklace by Sigma – delicate with just the right sparkle
KC Couture pumps – sleek and understated

My skin today is Rosie by Nuve—soft, luminous, and quietly confident. I’m wearing makeup from Identity Faces’ Rebound collection, giving me a natural polish without trying too hard. Hair is pulled back in a simple ponytail, courtesy of Studio Exposure’s Miss Baker—the perfect blend of ease and sophistication.
And now… I really should go make dinner (yes, it’s long overdue). Maybe I’ll light a candle. Maybe I’ll dust off a book. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll read again.
Until then, stay thoughtful. Stay curious. Be kind. 💛
