Remember the other day when I was rambling about the effect of all those discount sales and the effect on the economical and mental well being of many of SL’s creators? Even though inevitably the market will sort itself out, most likely through many creators quitting, so the supply and variety of goods will slow down, and prices inevitably can go up again because not everyone will be selling more or less the same kind of [enter your range of products here]. Before that happens I hope many of these creators who currently struggle with their sales and prices, will be able to snap out of this race to the bottom and reinforce their brand through quality of product, service and marketing.

When you follow some of the discussions, there some good ideas around, but one of the ideas I like best is the renaissance of the in world group! Group space is rare, if you have a customer willing to sacrifice a group spot for your shop, you already have a good beginning of a stronger bond with your customer. However, the occasional notice about a new release, or even the 10% or 15% discount (whether cash back or store credit) only takes you so far. It’s not exciting. It doesn’t create an “omg, I need to be in that group” feeling.

One example of a brand which has deliberately chosen a different marketing approach is Mellow Elie. In my opinion, one of the most exciting new brands in SL. Not only was the release of Emma Gilmour’s reboot collection as a designer in SL beautiful and very well made in every aspect; Emma spent her years away from SL not only dealing with RL, but also becoming a savvy social media marketing woman. And it shows! Emma knows how to build a following! For her upcoming release, the Mellow Elie Camden boots, there will be a group only early release on Friday with a special discount. Through the weekend, only members of the Mellow Elie group will be able to get these pretties (DON’T FORGET TO WEAR YOUR TAG!).
The group gift during the opening, 2 special versions of the Vintage Baby Tee are perfect additions to the opening collection. They are so cute, I almost wear them more than the regular shirts! And she has so many more ideas to make the group membership extraordinary, fun and rewarding.
I genuinely feel that this is worth a thousand times more -eventually also in economical aspect- than trying to stay afloat in an ocean of content creators during the weekend sales, all vying for that one off sale of a passing customer.

So other than Mellow Elie’s Camden boots, I am wearing Osmia today. I am a sucker for stripes in both lives, and this Shelby sweater is right up my alley! The Remy wide leg jeans fit perfectly under the sweater, no buttons or bums peaking out, and because they are cropped, leaving the ankles free, they are perfect with the boots too!!

Today’s entry is obviously not about make up and getting ready to leave the house for all the exciting possibilities of SL, but I do want to share these cute Cricket glasses by Deep Static and Jack Spoon‘s Elza creme lipstick. When I tried it on just now, I was like.. oops, this doesn’t match my mouth at all.. but, voilà the genius of LeLutka’s 2 HD lip layers to he rescue! On the bottom layer is one of the LeLutka HUD lipsticks, and I have blended the Elza lipstick on top of it, on the other HD layer, and I think this gives a super pretty ombre effect! Last but not least, get some pretty waterlines at Cazimi, they are fun to use, also in combination with eyeshadows. Today’s hair is Hani by TRUTH Collective.

What would increase brand loyalty in SL for you? Let’s talk!

Welcome to Pixel Approved. I’m Grazia.

This blog is where I share what I wear, what I see, and what’s on my mind.

Some days, it’s about digital fashion and styling in Second Life. Other days, it’s a personal journal where I unpack random thoughts, trends, or things that just won’t leave my head. I review skins I love, explore beautiful places you might’ve missed, and always keep a sharp eye on details that matter.

If you’re here for virtual fashion, clean edits, smart opinions, or a quiet escape—you’ll feel at home.
