Ah, the beautiful art of dance! As a little girl I wanted to become a ballerina, and I fanatically did classical ballet from when I was 4 years old, up to 18 years old, when I moved towns for my studies and I just got absorbed in the student life and other things than finding a new dance studio got my priority. Obviously I lacked the discipline (and the body) to ever really be a dancer. And even though nowadays, the ideas of what constitutes a dancer’s body has changed and is way more inclusive, this is less the case for ballet dancers, as the art is incredibly taxing on the body.

A good warming up is essential for ballet; for any sport really and when you attend a (pro) ballet class/training you’ll have a blast watching the outfits these people put together for the warming up session. Basically anything comfortable, not completely ragged, allows for optimal body movement AND which keeps you warm and your weak points even more so, goes.
I’m keeping it stylish here with my Salt & Pepper Ballet leotard and ditto shrug. For some extra warmth on my shoulders, I am using the over the shoulder sweater from COCO designs, and my warm up tights, again from Salt & Pepper went through a wee color edit and match the lovely marigold of the sweater now. I love my stuff mod! And then to finish off, I am also wearing a pair of leg warmers, also from Salt & Pepper.
After Black Dragon and Alchemy viewer, now also Firestorm is running a beta with an in world poser. And it is ideal to adjust existing poses like I love to do, or to (quickly) make your own. I am using a Pixit pose here from the Antheia set, and while beautifully crafted, for this photo I wanted just a little more tension in the arms, and and a wee bit more flex in the knee. These in world posers make that so easy!

So for this entry I dug up my ballet gear from Salt & Pepper and then and I went back to buy some more! This nutcracker bodice and tutu are exceptional from the sizing and the rigging, down to the texturing, and I adore their pointes, which are pretty close to the real stuff. If I want to start breaking them in before putting them on in SL, you know you got a pair of good ones!

For my skin, I caved and bought Tryne from LeLAPEAU at The Fifty. An event I always buy at because they have a great selection of participating merchants whose aesthetic I like! Tryne is beautiful. I decided not to go with the quite bushy brows that she comes with, but to use the more defined Florence (HD) brows from Nar Mattaru because I couldn’t make the brow shape work for me, without losing the face shape I like. Today’s eyes are from the Halcyon collection from Ikon. Also, I am not wearing any make up today, because with that work out, I would just be sweating it off and look horrible! My hair is from Stealthic, named Helix. As usual, all pictures have been uploaded directly from SL, and haven’t graced my photoshop.
That’s it for now, take care and be nice to eachother! Talk soon! ♥
